re: fandom. i am just so sick of this whole mess of stupidity across the board. from fans who believe that having a lj falls under freedom of expression to lj who decides that having really vague tos is okay to people who are getting into flame wars everywhere. and mostly, i am sick of the fact that i'm constantly hearing about it. (and yet, here i am, adding to the commenting and the issues. goddamn me.)

ugh ME TOO. which is why i haven't been posting about it, and have instead been ranting at ashley, but i needed to post that link and say my thing about efw (because i actually read that post before the shit hit the fan, and thought it was funny) and hopefully i have now gotten it all out of my system. the flame wars are SO embarassing though, like srsly fandom, i do not want to be associated with you anymore.

i just feel like everyone is taking things TOO personally. and maybe i have a good perspective being a librarian and dealing with banned books and challenges by parents; BUT. sometimes, you need to take a step back and look at what the other person is going through. lj could face lawsuits. fandom...wouldn't. ARGH. I AM DONE TALKING ABOUT THIS. (except, i will totally reply back to you.)

exactly! ponderosa has had a great attitude about it, but cara's getting kind of uppity, and all of fandom is acting like the sky is falling. and i don't understand how they think they can just start a new journaling service, like that will fix the problems. first of all, you'll never successfully move fandom anywhere new. second of all, none of them have the skills to actually build or run that sort of thing. third of all, having to be the one in charge takes all the fun out of fandom. and fourth of all, YOU WILL STILL HAVE TO OBEY THE LAW. jesus, it's NOT THAT COMPLICATED. and sorry, i just am FILLED WITH RAGE and keep ranting whenever anyone lets me open my mouth about this. ::loves::
