Trying to put together a playlist of viking-themed music (but not actual, you know, viking music). So far I have:

Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin
Cold Wind to Valhalla - Jethro Tull
Ride of the Valkyries - Wagner

Surely there is more in the world. Any suggestions?

If you're not averse to film scores, you might want to check out Mario Nascimbene's The Vikings, Dušan Radić's The Long Ships, Jerry Goldsmith's The 13th Warrior (although that last, while a fine action score, doesn't sound very vjiking to me!), maybe Franz Waxman's Prince Valiant (or maybe that's a stretch). There are other Viking movies but I'm not sure how many of them have scores available.

Absolutely avoid Trevor Morris' dull score to the recent Vikings TV show.

Or assorted "folk metal" bands: Heidevolk, Eluveitie, Finntroll, Ensiferum, Aon Amarth, Turisas.

I was going to suggest Turisas, but their themes are more medieval than Viking. (Still an excellent group, mind you.)

"Lucky Leif and the Longships" by Robert Calvert. A concept album of Viking themed music. I actually used to own this. Wish I still did.

It won't be traditional in any sense, but there's always Dethklok's "The Lost Vikings" from The Dethalbum.

Well, this suggestion is going to bring down the general tone of the rest of the comments. 1980's hair metal band, White Lion, had what I remember as a pretty neat song about Vikings on their first album. It's called "The Road to Valhalla".

I may have been completely obsessed with Vikings when I was 14 or so.
