I half like it. I realised half way through (when Brooke Shields does her verse about being the object of male gaze) that the song is directed only to men. And talks about women only as things to see: no space for the huge female audience for musicals.
I forgave it that because (1) There's a line somewhere that acknowledges that women are also a primary audience for musical theater, and (2) the song is specifically directed at hetero men, in a direct statement of "You won't turn gay, or be thought gay, if you come to the theater." That's not something women worry about.
I thought in that way it was quite subversive. It sets Broadway up as a successful, powerful industry that specifically isn't dominated by hetero males--they barely exist at all in this world!--and then invites them in...while clearly putting insecure hetero males down the hierarchy.
