Out, out, damned lame prose

I've decided on another magical power I want. I want the power to make books written in lame, boring, overblown, or corny prose fall into a black hole of forgetfulness

I think my problem there is that "shudder" is not usually a good thing. People shudder in fear, boats shudder if they've run aground, elevators shudder if they're malfunctioning.

Had she said trembled or quivered, I suspect I would have been all right with it.

That is my thought as well. No 'delight' can come of heart problems.
