"Too Gay"

I saw an interview and I loved the answer to the "Are you too gay" question... "It's figure skating." Buhahahah.

I was talking to Brakk at Escapade and we were pondering why it was that male figure skaters seemed to be so crushed into the closet. Anyone have a theory?

Compared to other athletes, I don't think they are. Other gay male athletes are in *Narnia*.

Ok that made me laugh. But what I meant although badly articulated is that I don't really hear other sports so closely tied with sexuality and therefore have the atheles constantly having to deny or reflect questions about it. Does that make any more sense?

Maybe it's because under all those 'sport' labels, figure skating is essentially ballet on ice. With all it's 'artiste' trappings. Sports guys are so damned nervous with that they really go into overkill to keep Teh Gay from being overt. They know it's there. We know it's there. But OMG, there are 'Mericans heah. Don't flame! (regardless of how effing great the perf's are).

Jocks just don't get figure skating. They're much more comfortable with short track where guys try to run over each other, or hockey. LOL!
