I've been thinking for a while that someone should set up a community where we can post stories about Kay (mhw, who died recently and unexpectedly). I kept reading lovely tributes to him in various people's journals, but I don't know everyone who knew him - and I don't think anyone else does, either. Was he on undernet 15ish years ago? A lot of the details here are resonating wtih me, but my memory isn't good enough (or aspects of internet identity have changed enough over time) for me to be sure.

I don't know about Undernet. Usenet, certainly. You'd know him from soc.bi if nowhere else. Liked wombats and good cheese, and knew a huge amount about "everything except football".
