I guess that is one way of looking at it too....

I really shouldn't be so pessimistic. But my birthdays have sucked for about 10 years now, so I guess it's just reflex. :)

When I have my 24 year cousin saying that 34 is like nothing, I feel a bit better too. :)

The pessimist in me insists that birthdays do nothing more than put you one year closer to dying. (-_-) My mom and I used to always fight on my birthday; I think part of her may have enjoyed giving me shit because she felt "obligated" to remember it. Not that I celebrated, but she'd still pull those types of stunts.

*hugs*

Hon, I have to tell you that at 41 I feel younger than I did at 21!

I reckon it's actually down to attitude - I know 30-year-olds who are old, and several over-60s who are still really young. Some people let themselves age too early, others keep learning and have a spirit of adventure that keeps them from ever getting old. (OK, yes, physically things start to creak a bit more, but that's not all there is to age.)

I know that is a lot of it. My grandmother had a young mind, and she was always on top of things. My Mother has a young mind as well, and so do my brothers- one turns 40 this year and still plays soccer regularly- and so does most of my family ( ... )
