Oh, these is an interesting answer! I assume Hollywood Babylon is a book then? I must check it out.

It's written by Kenneth Anger. He actually wrote 2 books under this title, the second of which contains pictures of the Black Dahlia murder scene. But I've read it and I prefer the first one personally so I don't know if the second one is still in print.

Aside from the obvious fact that they are of a murder victim, the crime scene photos are pretty disturbing. I was reading about it a few years ago on Crime Library and remember the chills I got seeing the pictures for the first time and realizing that the body looked so weird because it was in two pieces.

Didn't one of the Hollywood Babylon books contain pictures of the Jayne Mansfield crash photos too? I seem to recall reading about it somewhere but am not sure.

Yeah- that was the first one, but you didn't see anything of her, which was cool. Maybe that's what disturbed the heck outta me in the second one- opened it in a bookstore and was haunted for life.

I am now finding out that a lot of the first 'HB' is bunk, but sill entertaining if taken with a very light grain of salt.
