Sorry to hear about your aunt. :(

But it is nice to hear that some things are going well for you now. Yeah, even with your mom's fall it's still great that she's at home and getting stronger and better.

Congrats on the clerkship!

Would be very cool if you could go to school in the UK. Have you ever been? I can't recall if you've ever mentioned whether you have or not.

Enjoy the HIM concert, and have a wonderful (and hopefully peaceful and relaxing) Thanksgiving.

I have never been to the UK. It has been a dream of mine since I was probably 8 or 9 to visit and if possible live there. I know it's a long shot about the permenant living part, but I still want to try and get in over there. Apart from the free applications, overall it's no more or less pricey than attending grad school here. (And in some cases, up to a couple thousand dollars cheaper.) I'd rather spend 5 bucks to send my transcript and possibly get in than pay $60 and maybe get in conditionally. (But I'll be happy to get in. :) Though I'd really love to be accepted to University of Cardiff, Aberdeen and/or Trinity, though I am learning towards Uni. of Southampton as well ( ... )

I hope you get your chance someday with going to the UK, whether school or vacation.

That's cool that you want to study here :] What do you want to do?

I hate that we have to pay top-up fees.. £3000 and it's climbing every year :/ Students end up in so much debt, which sucks. Nevertheless I still can't wait for Uni, haha. Less than 2 years to go now ;D

I am planning on either English Literary Studies or Writing, depending on where I am accepted (when and *if* I accepted). One or the other would be fine with me.

What are top-up fees? Is that like upfront costs or what?

Top-up fees are basically tuition fees. But if you'r doing post-grad study then I don't think it will affect you.

Wow, that sounds cool :] Good luck, hopefully you'll get accepted!

Thanks for that info- it's just another word for tuition, cool. But it sounds kinda sucky for you, though. I guess we're used to it because we've had tuition fees for decades here. We'd have to pay an out of state fee in addition to school tutition and additional fees. So If school has always been free or reduced, I can definately see how it would suck eggs.

I would LOVE to go to school in the UK, you have no idea. Wales, Scotland, England, I am not fussed. I might finally get my accent right as well!
