As for cell phones, yeah, they're really useful to have. I don't even use a landline anymore (except when my mom decides to call me) because cell phones are so private and convenient I can call from anywhere and not have to worry about people picking up another phone in the house and listening to the conversation or not having a line of communication in emergencies (or the germs on the phone if it's a public one). Good luck on your quest to get one, though! There's so many awesome choices out there nowadays. (Get a Droid!)

Wow, you're in Houston?! Welcome!

Glad to hear you love it! I've come across a couple of people in other LJ communities who hate it. One of my friends from Baton Rouge hates it with passion and someone in ontd_muse hates it, too, and advised a member there to avoid the Houston concert and do Ft. Worth/Dallas instead. I was mad, quite frankly. I read a Yahoo! article once that listed us as one of the top five underrated cities in the country and another article somewhere said this was the best place to buy a house in the whole country.

And :( to LJ hating the place. It's such a pretty city, though! There's a ton of stuff to do and clean parks and awesome public transportation...!
