We had all heard the stories, of course, of the black rainbow fish who lived in the lake outside of town. You had me at "canelas and cafecitos." This was so much fun to read and reminded me of my childhood hunts when I went to visit my grandma in Mexico. I can't wait to read more of your stories.

Ooh, this was really interesting! I was expecting all of the build-up to end with, "...and nothing happened," but I actually liked the way you did this much better. This is such a good telling of a young sibling "adventure" with the added bonus of the stories that started it actually being real. It's well-written fantasy with a very grounded side. Good work on this one! :)
