The flowers said,
“Goodbye” to me
As I walked through our front door,
The clicks and taps of their feet
Upon the marbled floor.
Seemed to say,
“How’s your day?”
My feet respond,
“A bore.”
I pressed the button going up
My desk’s on twenty-four.
All was silent in the shaft,
Aside from my own thoughts,
A ding a whir and some step
