I particularly like this line:
He's young and full of the sort of confidence people only have when they're young, a confidence that he will have lost in a few years when the same girl smiling at him now strips him of everything he's ever loved or owned.

I like this a lot. McCoy rings true and as much as I love this character, I always find it impossible to believe the fault for the divorce all sits on Jocelyn. She might have taken him for everything but I always feel he gave her more than one good reason to do so (which isn't saying it's right!).
His life turned out nothing like he expected but for all that I think McCoy found a home for those years. Thank you for a lovely story!

I don't like it when she's shown as a cold-hearted bitch who divorced him just because. There's got to be some reason it went wrong that's down to the both of them. And I love McCoy, but like you said, he's got to have given her some reason to divorce him.
