holy ish! I totally get that sleep paralysis. It is seriously the scariest most frightning thing. When i get it, not only can I not move or open my eyes...I actually stop breathing...like I've been to the point where tears roll down my face..but I still can't move! Yikes! And oh I so wish I could have come by yesterday...next time for sure!

When you go into REM sleep, a chemical is released in your body that temporarily paralyzes you. So that's why if you wake up during one of the REM stages, you can't move.
True story, I learned it in psychology.
