You know those Schticky rolly things they sell on tv? I got one at Walmart awhile back and it works great. I have cats and with cats you will have shed hair, clawed cardboard from their scratcher, scattered kibble, and today, the clipped off barbs off fish hooks. It's great for getting up those

Good lord! Poor kitty! D: I'm glad you were able to keep things from getting worse, though, considering the circumstances. O_o

One thing to watch out for is abcessing - be sure to get him to the vet for a proper look. Cats' skin tends to heal from the outside in, so wounds can get infected and create abcesses even though the outer skin has healed and the fur has grown back. Ooh, and actually, don't use peroxide on the wound - it's actually better to use distilled water if you've got nothing else to hand. Here's a link I found, if it helps:

Oh thanks! That's good to know. It looks ok today. There's no swelling or anything at the moment. He's been a good sport about all my poking and prodding and I don't know that he would be if it was very painful. (he sure wasn't thrilled about the wire cutters) I'll check with the vet tomorrow and see what she says.
