I hear you. Every year I read about women being annoyed at the non-selection of costumes (unless your idea of fun is dressing up like a lady of the night). Unfortunately, the industry still doesn't 'get it' and keeps pumping out this garbage. So much for the great modern era. Women are still just seen as sex objects.

PS. I tried to do a net search to find a good costume idea for you but no luck. The only thing I found were historic costumes and ren fair costumes, basically stuff worn for things other than Halloween (though one can always default to that to be safe).

That was a good article. I think I'm going to combine my pirate and ren outfits into one, many-layered comfy costume and let the kids guess what I am.
