He's not a medical professional or anything, but he knows that dark blood is bad. Any blood is bad in his book, but dark blood is really bad, so when he pulls his hand away from his stomach (it feels eerily familiar, and he tries not to think about the last time he made the exact same movement), he's relieved to see bright red color

That was great. Love the glimpses at the con, Sophie's reaction to Nate getting shot... and Nate's reaction to her reaction 'cause really, it's so typically Nate; and Parker and Hardison recapping their combined injuries and bruises. Love the whole thing.

(At this point I'd say it's canon that Nate doesn't know how to duck properly when someone takes a shot at him.)

Nate had to have been one of those teenagers who was always saying, "Don't worry, guys, I got this!"

Nate hears duck and says, "No, that's a bullet."
