so I'm not sure if this is a question.
before I knew about the challenge, I'd started a Frank/Greta fic. I'm not positive I'll be done by November (YES I KNOW IT'S LIKE THREE MONTHS but I'm shit with deadlines and what with school and everything) so can you sign me up tentatively and if I get it in, I do, and if I don't, I don't? I think that's the reason for the check-in...
I'll comment on the sign-up post too, just let me know.

Yes, that's the reason for the check in. If you sign up now but realize by November 15th there's no way it's going to be finished - then no harm done!

It is, yes. The only thing we're really saying no to is original characters.

i have been talking to a friend about this today and have decided to ask about possibly making an exception for ryan/keltie/brendon.

although it includes a popular pairing as two of its parts, and there are people who enjoy it in bandom, the amount of fic actually written about it? i'm pretty sure is under 10 fics.

also, any fic i would write for this pairing is not just an excuse to write ryan/brendon where ryan is dating keltie, but she pretty much gets pushed aside. the fic is more in the vein of actually being about the three of them equally together, which is obviously not something seen often in fic and therefore i would think would be seen as rare.

For the record, I totally appreciate that you addressed the main concern we have with a threesome/GSF involving one of the banned pairings. I think what you're describing sounds perfectly acceptable, and so long as it's written that way, I have no problem with this exception. Write away!

Would I be allowed to write a pairing that includes Elizabeth/Z-Berg of The Like with one of the Panic boys? (Hopefully Brendon/Z-Berg.) I know she's in with Ryan and Alex's crowd at the moment, but I'm not sure where she stands in regards to bandom.

This is still only an idea. I'm just covering my bases before I attempt to plan in detail.

Yes, I have no problem whatsoever with that. So long as you're not using original characters, it's perfectly acceptable to use people from bands that aren't necessarily in the ~scene, as well as to use the people associated with them who aren't necessarily in bands.
