SPONSORS
If you're looking to donate, skim through the participants
HERE. Once you decide who you'd like to support (because they're your friend, because you like the pairing(s) they're writing, or just because) send an e-mail to bandom.ficathon@gmail.com with one of the following subject lines:
Pledge: [username of the writer] - for a normal pledge, where in the body of the email, you put the dollar amount of how many dollars you're willing to donate per 1000 words of fic that person writes in a two week period.
Pledge: undetermined writer - for if you want to contribute to the "pot" for writers that don't have any pledges by the end of the pledging period. I said that I would donate some money for every single one of those writers, but money-related circumstances have changed for me, so I can't. (I'll still sponsor a few people and donate a little bit to the pot, but if you end up having no pledges, I'm really, really sorry.) In the body of the email, either put a dollar amount or say that you'd like to be assigned a random writer (from there, you can figure out how much you're willing to donate/1K words).
Pledge: surprise - In the body of the email, put "[dollar amount] for [fic pairing or theme]". These will be revealed after fics are turned in. This isn't a challenge or a way to "buy" fic, because the writers should be writing what they think they can finish, but it'll be a nice surprise at the end. Example: "I will donate $5 for the longest/first submitted Brendon/Spencer fic", or anything else you can dream up.
Please submit these emails by January 20th. Remember that you don't have to make the actual donations until mid-February, when the fics are posted! Also, thank you.
WRITERS
Tell your friends to pledge! (Don't forget to link them to your comment and this post so that they'll know how to pledge!)
Ficwise, you can start planning now, but the only words that will count will be the words written between January 20th and February 3rd. I'd ask that you refrain from using WIPs, but you can if you really want to, as long as only a couple thousand words have been written. In any case, try to stay within the frame of what your estimated word count was, so that the people pledging can base their donations off of that.
Once again, let me know if you have any questions!
