There's a famous equation that is supposed to determine how likely it is that intelligent life that can communicate with us exists in the galaxy. It's called the "Drake Equation", and here's how it's defined:
I take it you've been following the findings of Kepler as much as I have! I find all of this so damn exciting I can hardly contain myself. I'm just sad that we're only looking at a such a small portion of the universe and, at this time, it doesn't look like there will be any other programs to duplicate Kepler's efforts in other locations. I'm sad that I am probably going to die before we get to visit any of these planets. :-( NO FAIR.
While I'll probably never get a boat and live out my retirement on the sea, I'm finding the idea of jumping ship and getting the heck out of dodge much more appealing the longer I work in corporate IT.
Awww, thanks :-) Every once in a while, I want to write about something non-IT related, and I think "jeez, I wish I had a non-computer blog to put this" and today I remembered, "Hey, I have a LJ!"
