Well, my PC is spending the weekend in PC urgent care-not angsting too much about it, as i know it's in great hands, those guys are super geeks. Should have it back on Monday or Tuesdays at the latest- in the meantime,  The Kitten has graciously loaned  me her laptop so I can check emails, LJ, etc.

Story progress is halted, as I am such a slow typer

Yes, thank goodness--after having a crash disaster a while back where I lost fics, I have made sure ever since to back up my files on jump drive and cd. *nodnod*

*nods and sighs8 Yes, the laptop is so different, it's frustrating not to be able to go at my usual speed (about 50 words a minute) not to mention all the misstrikes...*sniffle*

But I'm not complaining. I'm just lucky to have this as a baackup. Ill get used to it, and maybe even proficient at it, given enough time and patience...XD

Beside, if you still have your keyboard, and that the plug of it is a USB type, you maybe can plug it on the laptop.

No worries. I just replied to your email before I saw this... but if you still have the notes from what you already beta'd once you get your computer back, don't worry about doing it again just to get it to me sooner.... anytime next week is fine. ^_^ I haven't gotten the chance to start on ch 11 yet, so like I said in the email, it's no rush.

There's actually a chance I could get the whole beta file back as long as it didn't get corrupted...:D However, I am writing out a new one in longhand just in case it went bye bye. ^^

I apologize for the name error...i was thinking about your pen name, rather than your lj name. *grin* It occurs to me that we're like the FY characters with all the different names we have...;D

I'm sorry you are having computer troubles too...:( The one thing that makes it easier is that we found a really good and reasonable repair place nearby that is certified to fix Dell Pcs.*sigh* I suspect that the thing shut down because of an email based virus trying to download itself. :(

Nothin' like a busted computer to put a wrench in your plans.

See, I have a computer tech for a boyfriend, so whenever I destroy something help is just a phone call away.

There have been a few times where I've been sitting on the floor with a computer in pieces around me, with Jon giving me instructions over the phone. It always feels like I'm an unlicensed surgeon rooting around in a body with phone instructions by an awesome open heart surgeon or something. I don't know. This is why I don't do analogies before 10 AM.

I think your analogy is excellent! Your Jon sounds like an awesome dude. And you are awesome for being able to fix your own computer!!

It's nothing that can't be fixed, luckily. Fix and backup is going to be around 140 bucks. That's actually very reasonable, considering they reinstall everything and give me a couple of extras.

They said Tuesday at the very latest. I thought that was pretty good.
