I really like this pairing, unusual as it is. Chichiri already showed in the series that he understands Yui, and I think Yui would understand and empathize with the burden of guilt and other emotional baggage that Chichiri has carried around for so long. I think they'd respect and relate to each other as equal partners. I think Chichiri's laid back attitude would be good for Yui, and that she would be a stabilizing influence on him. Chichiri could get Yui to laugh at herself, and vice versa.
And Yui's information is correct! *grin*. I'm planing on doing a fic about these two in the future, most likely as a follow up to The Promise. ^_^

Kyou and Kagara is a pairing I don't ship. I like Kagura as a character, but I *really* dislike the way she throws herself and bullies Kyou every free moment she gets. Her love for him is a very selfish and immature one, something even she comes to realize in the end (much to her credit and growth as a character.) Imho, Kyou loves her the way he'd love an annoying little sister. ^^

I really like the Hotohori/Miaka pairing. From the beginning there's an understanding and a emotional rapport between them that I found to be more substantial and affecting than what Miaka had going with Tamahome to begin with. It's my opinion that Miaka didn't allow the possibility because she knew she was far too young and inexperienced to handle marriage to anyone, much less an Emperor!
It's my opinion that Hotohori was in love with the idea of being with someone with no preconceived ideas of him, but he fell in love for real once he'd met Miaka. In a way, she did give him the thing he'd wanted most; in doing his duty as her seishi, he was no longer set apart/isolated from people.
