Doeas this mean Sam Jackson is actulaly on board to play Nick Fury in the Avengers movie because that would be all kinds of awesome

Yep, that is exactly what it means. Sam Jackson said on interview that he would love to play Fury after Marvel used his likeness for the Ultimates. And Jackson is wwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better choice then David Hasselhof to be Nick Fury.
