I smiled at Buffy. I just love a challenge and I missed nights like this sometimes. It just wasn't the same with anyone else but Buffy

I heard something behind me. quickly turning on my heels and gathering heat signitures I knew instantly it was a vampire. Moving yet dead, that couldn't possibly be a hint.
I move quietly around to a set of bushes and circled them coming up behind him. Raising my stun gun ready to fire.
I wasn't expecting him to just dart off like that. I thought that maybe we'd have a challenge of the dukes or such... you know, like kids play. What the hell was I thinking? I should have known, because then, he wouldn't be beating me in a race to find something of potential danger.
I sprinted after him, and thought about if there were any bystanders, what in the hell they would think. Okay, so I was more worried about what Giles would think right now, rather than my already bruised social status. He'd think that this wasn't the time for fun and games, regardless of the lack of action of late.
I didn't have the talents of using my nose for the scent of blood or human flesh. All I had was the strength, and the skill.
Maybe this challenge wasn't a sure win. I stopped in the middle of a clearing, while Angel was in the shadows. He had found something, that I had yet to see, so I stood there in marked silence waiting for any other sign of movement other than Angel's.
He was there, waiting for me. And if he thought I was just going to walk right into a trap, he was wrong. I'm not that stupid.
I bided my time, moving in a circular path, getting closer to him without coming right at him. You're mine, sucker, might as well give it up. I thought.
Then I darted forward, heading right at him, hoping to get him quick before he could fumble with a weapon and shoot it off.
I had my guard up, I knew the Sub Ts here were sly, that they could sneak up at any moment. When I heard a branch crack behind me I knew I was being followed. I didn't know what it was, but I won't be captured, I will not end up on Mrs Walsh's list of annoyances, that is completely reserved for Forrest.
I could hear the unknown thing coming towards me so I ducked out hiding beneath a bush ready to tranq whatever was in my way. I just hoped I was out of sight enough that it wouldn't spot me first.
