I thought I might take refuge in audacity by making such an obvious follow-up to Breath of Life. Yeah, not exactly successful on that front. I wasn't planning to offer Wonder Woman again, but then I saw
chaila requested a Trinity vid and was like "OMG YES. AND I HAVE THE PERFECT SONG." And, as luck would have it, she ended up being my assignment.

I had hoped to rely on the animated movies as source but ended up bringing in JLU for more interaction among the trio (and STAS and YJ for origins and baby heroes, respectively). The movies have a decent amount of Clark and Bruce but, with the exception of Apocalypse, haven't focused much on Diana's relationship with either of them. For shame.

In terms of structure, I wanted to start with each of their origins and then build out, to the Trinity as a group and then again to the roles they play as leaders and mentors. And like Breath of Life, this is as much about them as mythic figures as it is about their characters per se. While I didn't utilize comic book images this time, I tried to drive that point home with the final section, starting with the logo overlays (thank you Superman/Batman: Apocalypse for those opening credits...but no thank you for making me figure out how to cleanly remove the text) and then ending with that last "Protectors of the Earth" shot in the Watchtower. This THE comic book Trinity and I will accept no pale imitations, i.e. I will cut the next person who refers to MCU Steve/Tony/Thor as "the Trinity." :P (ETA: OH FFS. This WOULD come up on my dash today.)
