We're returning to Reconstructing Jada Channing/Coming Home universe this year (yet, if y'all are following Coming Home, y'all know the universes are starting to meld into one!), except, it's not about the couple you think it may be.  I hope you enjoy, please forgive errors, and feel free to stick around as I'm doing an all day chat here.  No, ( Read more... )

Thanks for this poignant, complex, romantic story. The issues of colorism/ideas about class within the family are sadly familiar, but Terrence's defense of his daughter -- “Even if she were bald, she’d be the most beautiful child I’d ever seen” -- is very loving and protective.

I'm quite late to the party re: your Star Trek TOS fanfic, but I recently took time to read the entire series of fics and I really love them! Each chapter is really engaging, and so often funny, sexy, and the social commentary fits perfectly with the episodes and the larger contexts of the Trek universe. The characterization and interplay between McCoy, Spock, Uhura, Kirk -- wonderful! I think that I enjoy those old TOS episodes a lot more when mentally viewing them through the lens of the S/U love story you've created.

Thanks! I've hit a wall because season 3 is so full of o.O in terms of Spock's characterization that I think I'm just skipping ahead where I have a bit more freedom. But whenever an episode has no Uhura...I'm a little less engaged, not gonna lie. :(

OOOOH, their story is...bittersweet; the very definition of it. I sprinkle their story throughout RJC and CH, and particularly CH because love is wonderful, yes, but also just so damn painful. :( But I wanted to show readers that things between Lynn and Terrence had been REALLY good and the love was there and real.

Thank you so much for reading and happy Valentine's day!
