Oh, so much love for this!

It is stories like this and the TOS universe that made me and makes me such a SciFi fan. It envisions a future that King had hoped for. I also love the fact that you did this because Nichelle had been specially told by King to retain her role on Trek for this very reason...she represented the hope he wanted people to see. She represented that race would not have to be the factor in determining who were or could be!

Thanks so much for writing this and I will highly recommend!!

I'll have to confess I wasn't even thinking about Nichelle when I wrote it; I just remember going to Memory Alpha and reading the notes and thinking "how freaky is that?!" So when I started writing the Assignment Earth fic, I remembered I'd mentioned King in "A Dream Come True" and then remembered, courtesy to several readers, about King's impact on Nichelle and getting her to stay. It was all happy coincidence so I can't take all the credit! But, however, I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the rec!

This was so poignant. And I loved the interaction between Uhura, Spock and McCoy. I haven't had a chance to check out all of the links, but I will. The ending of MLK's speech, "I've Been to the Mountaintop" is one of my favorites if not favorite speech of his. Cause how true his words came to be.

Thank you so much for reading! We still have a ways to go to get there, but we're much closer than I think even Dr. King thought we'd be. :)

Yes we do. I was alot more optimistic at the beginning of the year, but events as of late as dim that optimism some.

I'm adding your story to my fav, not because of the ship, since I don't really ship them, and yes, you have planted an interest, but because of the poignancy and historical perspective of this story.

Keep up the good work. :)
