oh i have so much love for this. McCoy and Spock are just so wonderful here and what a great way of celebrating MLK considering his role in getting Nichelle Nichols to stay on.

For those interested, here's a link to the wiki on MLK Jr's speech. And a link to the song that I think you've referenced Precious Lord?

Yes, let me add the link to the song to the A/N. Forgot to do that, so thanks for reminding me! The two "here's" are the video and audio of him giving the speech, but I'll add the text too.

Everything kind of comes full circle with this fic, don't it? Thanks for reading!

Another great fic. I loved the ending. McCoy and Spock are so wonderful in their banter.
I haven't seen that episode yet, but reading the wiki page, it seemed that Roddenberry may have been inspired a bit by Doctor Who that began four years prior to that episode. But maybe the similarities between the servo and sonic screwdriver and time traveling benevolent aliens with a special interest in Earth are just coincidental.

Thanks for reading! And I agree about the DW influence, probably why it would be so easy to do a ST/DW crossover fic should one choose!

I did not look up all the context but just went ahead and read this and thought it was wonderful all on its own. Thanks for posting it. It's very touching.
