Oh, this was sad, but beautiful at the same time. Bones and Uhura's friendship and how he helped her though.

The scene between her and Spock, had me misty eyed.

Um...what? You actually had to debate posting this gem? Really?
Well, I'm dead glad to hear that your rational side won and that we were given the chance to read this. McCoy saying that he gave his love freely was one of your more beautiful works, it must be said. It was just such a simple fact that needed saying.
And Spock's actions were SO moving for the whole situation (or any situation come to think of it), sad I only got a glimps, but it was still bang-on perfect. Thanks for posting!

Letting out a shuddering breath, Uhura rested her forehead against the top of Spock’s head and started to hum, of all things, “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”. What shocked McCoy more, however, was when Spock released Uhura’s hands to wrap his arms tightly around her waist and pressed his cheek against her chest, eyes closed and his face pinched with such emotion McCoy couldn’t even begin to fathom of what" ~ this is my favorite part. Beautiful as always!!
