- So the drama with my dissertation is not over yet. I wish it were but it seems like I'm having problems getting that final signature from my supervisor because SHE'S NOT AROUND. I have to eat McDonald's in the car sacrifice my lunch break tomorrow because I'm going to have to drive across town to catch her in her office. I just hope it pans out

I watched this episode with a friend, so I didn't have many thoughts on it, actually. I think they kind of resorted to formula a bit in terms of as a procedural, but it was nice to see someone that was actually kind of at Harvey's level of intellect going head to head against him. Donna at the end was such a killer! I was actually going, hoh shit D:
I really liked the Louis/Mike interaction.
The Rachel/stapler/Harold(?) thing... was funny at first, but then kind of... cliche? I think the AV Club explains it well. (cries, I was going to link you the actual episode recap/review, but the site isn't working for me at the moment... hopefully you'll have better luck ( ... )

Yeah it was rather dry but YES on seeing Harvey's equal! He's not invincible and it's nice to see him be reminded of that! Much better than seeing Harvey pursue a woman he can't have! But I like that they didn't cheapen the plot by using a woman too.
Rachel is so much better than that! I read the review that you gave me and they're so right. She shouldn't be a prop. I think girls might want to see a female character struggle to be recognized as an equal in the office and Rachel has the potential to do just that!
AAHHHH just a few more days before the new episode!

That would be fun, too, but sort of... well, you know how he's going to react, right? With having Harvey's equal in the case, it's a chance to see more insight into his character, too.
Especially as it's really a male-oriented career, at least as Suits portrays it. Apart from Jessica and Rachel, have we even seen any women in the office? That aren't extras? :P
I don't know if you've heard of the Bechdel test (which was brought up with regards to Suits by the AV Club, once again), but yeah, Suits fails that with Rachel.
I want her to have an awesome girl friend as well, which was why her hanging out with Donna was boss (LOL I don't know why I used that word). I guess we'll see more of non-male-oriented shenanigans when we see the results for her LSATs. I don't think they'll completely do it wrong, so I do have hope~

Hopefully one more Harvey layer will peel off! And it'll allow us to see a little bit of that Harvey/Donna relationship without the witty banter.
You're right about there not being any other strong women on the show! And you know what's interesting is I'm reading a whole bunch of romance novels by a former attorney about strong female attorneys! I love how the books provide me with additional 'background' knowledge on the field and maybe in my mind, those characters fill up the void in Suits. Hehehhee My mind is a sad, tight space.
I've heard of the Bechdel test! And yes! They did fail it with Rachel. Come one, people. Girls are not necessarily weak. We don't necessarily crumble totally when we get our hearts broken. Some of us actually kick ass. And strong women CAN be best friends with other strong women COME ON. Hopefully you're right about post-LSATs results. I want to see Rachel climb! I want to see her work for it! :D
