Sorry it's taken me so long to reply, LJ finally relented and let me on tonight.

This is such a lovely fic! I love how you found a way for Caroline to stay with her friends. I adored the road trip shenanigans at the beginning and the fact that Damon crashed their sleepover. The image of the girls giving him a manicure is pretty much the best thing ever. The ending felt so bittersweet and so very right, and I couldn't help but squee at the Damon/Alaric bit.
