The Differences Between Fans . . .

Aug 28, 2006 23:02

I've said over and over since I got back from Amecon, how cool it was to see the difference between anime fans here and there, and everyone has wanted to know more about it. While it may sound like I'm saying that UK fans are much better...I'm really not. I'm just saying they are very different. It's such a hard thing to explain without being there ( Read more... )

HMV - So... jelous. I might be a bit off since I'm going only from my uncle's decription of the chain from his visit to Japan but he told me the place is just massive with goods. But I have a promotional fan ^_^

Glad then that I had the chance to talk with you as you rushed and not impeeded you too much at ACEN last ^_^

Hey There . . . bam2 August 29 2006, 06:05:53 UTC
Yeah HMV is really something to behold !!! Being the big Music Dork that I am....it's totally like being in a candy store.

If you ever get the chance to check one out.....DO IT!

They used to have one in NYC, but I think that one is closed down now. I know they have them in Vancouver....

I'm also stoked that I got a chance to hang for a bit at ACEN too...It's getting harder and harder at the big cons to find good hang time....but I guess that's what the small cons are for, eh?

I'm hoping to see you at Oni-con in Houston... but it hinges on their ability to have an Artist's Alley or not. Apparently there's issues with the hotel =(

And unfortunately, if I can't attempt to sell my swag there... can't justify the drive at $3 a gallon or the hotel costs. Argh.

Ticks me off because while I'd just have the same *shirts* as last year, I went and got some new buttons done up for selling at Oni...

Hope you enjoyed the shirt mbwun delivered (or at least claims she did!) at ACEN =)

^_^ I never know I could be in Vancouver one day in the not so far future. I do have family out in Seattle. Funny how trips pop up on you.

Thanks for the tip on a closer location.

Yeah I will totally be at Onicon....I don't know which night I'm DJ'ing ... but I will be there the whole weekend.

I don't know what's going on at the Alamo....I'm just now getting back in town. Hopefully it won't be too long before I can enjoy a few beers and some free anime.

hopefully we'll see you there - I can't go unless they have an Artist's Alley, but that should be announced soon.

Hey, I think I'm going to be at Onicon too.

If you have time, give me a call while you're on the road up to Dallas. Nice talking with you the other night. :)

the next conventions are Auchinawa which is this November/December in Scotland, Minamicon, which is next march and is fully booked, and Fuyucon, which is October 2007 and will be held in Nottingham. I'm not sure if you're kidding around or actually would like to go but either way I hope this helps ^____^

It seems that so many people now, want the con to be about what THEY want

I couldn't agree more about this statement. If it starts to become that way, cons (like Ushicon) will shut down because the fans are ruining the experience.

Fresh sugs, see you around.

Yeah, It bumms me out everytime I think about Ushicon...

A perfectly good convention....ruined by Wank, and Drama.

Although I totally hope people will learn from all of that and just learn to have fun and enjoy the company.

Take Care Buddy...See ya soon!

Maybe we should take a bit of a cue from our friends in the UK. :) We really are lucky with the massive amounts of anime and manga available to us. And don't even get me started on the attacking fanpeople...I don't know how you stay so positive! In any case, glad to hear you got home safely!

Finally got see Chrono Crusade - nothing but love for you! I'm waiting patiently for Netflix to deliver Negima (yet another reason we US fans are lucky!), but apparently you're too cool, and there's a 'very long wait.' *sigh* Soon enough!

Take care, hope to catch you at another con soon to get my dance on!

Hey You... bam2 August 29 2006, 06:16:41 UTC
Yeah...I am hoping that everything will chill here on the drama side. I have been debating for a long time on an entry about all of the silly con-politics, and drama that has been adrift this year...but it always feels like I'm bitching about it...and that doesn't feel very positive either.

So Stoked you got to finish Chrono Crusade. I can't even tell you how much I love that show. I had an awesome time with some Chrono cosplayers in the UK. I'm editing my pictures so I can add them to my site soon.

As far as Negima is concerned, I REALLY hope you enjoy that one as well. Not so much heavy drama as Chrono, but a really fun little show, and I totally love my character in it too.

Take Care

Hugz
