We're not doing any news shows tonight or tomorrow, so needless to say, it's pretty dead here at the station. There's me, one of our producers monitoring the phones and police scanners, and a security guard wandering around somewhere. And that's it ( Read more... )

Get there early. I hate getting to church late and having to stand. Cuz then my legs get fidgety and my balls start to mysteriously ache.

I like it when you comment. =]

I'm glad you all liked the card. I wasn't sure if the post office would deliver mail addressed to people like "SPINNER_8" or "MIA (FROM THE INTERNET)" so I just stuck your real name on the envelope, because you were the only person whose last name I could remember (sorry Sard and Mia).

This is year has been the first that our family did not go to Mass for Christmas, owing to the fact that Dad's dead. Can't say I missed going.

That sort of reflects my own spiritual quest over the past several years. I was brought up Catholic, and went to Catholic school for nine years. Yet I never truly felt comfortable with Mass, especially since my grade school made it so I had to go three times a week--once with my parents, twice with my class. And as I went through high school, I started to develop my own questions about faith, with no proper way to ask or answer them. I began to get uncomfortable going to Mass, and once I graduated HS, my parents and I agreed that I no longer had to attend mass with them ( ... )

I hear ya, I did my own examination of other faiths a few years back, and found it to be fairly insightful. For me, it feels as though my life has kind of come full circle.

Midnight Mass was nice last night, I enjoyed pointing out to Sarah all the little Catholic quirks and knick knacks that are in the church, and what they meant. Parts of the Mass were recited in Latin, which caught me off guard. I'm kind of curious to see what other churches are in the area, but I liked this one, it kind of reminded me of the church I went to when I lived in New Jersey.

It was also named after the most underrated ninja turtle of all -- St. Raphael's.

I thought everybody appreciated Raphael because he was the one who said "damn!" in the movie.
