I do wonder what happened to Jamey. Maybe there's another story there?

Y'know, my mother, who read my drafts, has been bugging me about Jamey all week. She also wants to know what becomes of him! I must admit, he grew quickly on me too...I may have to see what he gets up to in future installments. :)
*hugs you back, hard*

I have to say, this line caused much squee when I read it. :D I have to agree, finding out what happened to Jamey would be great, especially since Jack looks up to him so much. And now I've said that, please don't kill him! *looks hopeful* :)

Thanks so very much for reading and commenting! I'm really excited to hear how fond folks are of Jamey ('cause I've got a big ole' crush on him myself).

The way you work the cartographer in - and Jack's figuring out what the word has to mean.
Father Cassidy - wonderful OC in just a few glimpses but I feel I know him well.

It's hard for us, in an almost entirely literate society, to understand the power of being able to write one's name at a time when most people, when they had to sign something, just made their "mark." I could just picture John, newly introduced to the wonder of letters--a whole new world, really--being absolutely blown away that he could make himself a part of that world by learning to write his name. I think he would have loved the permanence of that in his very unsettled life.
After I decided he would carve his name into his father's ship at the end, I knew I had to make the ship the future Black Pearl. I like the idea that ( ... )

I am a great believer in the long-standing romance between Jack and the Pearl...and given the chance, I just made it a bit more long-standing!

(And we'll all carefully overlook the fact that Teague has no Irish accent whatsoever LOL!)
