Has anyone read the letter to the editor in Inquirer on Wednesday complaining about Soc Sci 3? If you have, please feel free to stomp on it. I know he's entitled to his own opinion but telling people not to take a class that can furthur their understanding of others is just bull. My whole class will be sending a rebuttal. Take that

And apparently the letter sender belongs to a group that supposedly does not tolerate homosexuals. I now wonder at the validity of his complaints. Purely value-judgement, he hasn't even tried the sibject yet.

My Soc Sci 3 prof told us to read this, with a knowing smirk, and advised us to "form our own opinions on it".

My opinion? He's entitled to it, but only AFTER he's tried the course. Know what you're talking about, at least.

Of course, I read this right after watching the Kinsey: Let's Talk About Sex film, where they discussed why wilful ignorance harms not only you, but other people - and the place of a sex course in unis. Hayy. Wish I could strap this guy down and make him watch it.

One of my classmates in Soc Sci 3 said that he agrees to some points of the letter and that if he wasn't taking the class he would've said the same things. But now that he's enrolled he's realized that there are things that one should learn from the class.

I think people immediately assume that Soc Sci 3 and even Pan Pil 19 teaches students sexual deviancy or sexual positiions when the classes look at different things

They'll publish it don't worry. Apparently that letter has even been the cause of much bruohaha at the Psych department. Dra. Holmes said that many profs questioned what was being taught

either the guy is still living in the Victorian age, or he's squarer than Spongebob's pants.

im sure the guy is very unpopular now. not that i don't blame him, he should have taken the class before he said nasty things about it.
