That pug loaf is weird. I don't know how I feel about it yet. It's kinda cute and kinda gross and twisted!
I have read my old el jay posts, and that's one of the reason I kinda quit writing so much. I realized that I was being totally self-obsorbed and using el jay as a place to vent my frustrations. I've been playing around with the idea of doing something more specific with it, but I haven't come up with anything yet. I want to be as interesting as you are with your art pieces and poems, but I think Ive lost a lot of my creativity since college. The real world has intruded upon my creative world. Maybe I should do picture stories of the dogs or something, but then, who else but me cares about my dogs. You see my dilemma...
My first reaction to the pug load is AW, and then I look closer and I think...Hmmmm...Ew-Aw-Ew-Aw? I love it though. It makes me laugh out loud.
Maybe you could reinvent what your el jay is? You seem to passionate about dogs -- their care and training -- as well as certain types of books and your work with the vets. Maybe your el jay could focus on things like book reviews, the vets with whom you talk, various pet-related products you've used, and yr work & love of your own animals? I think you have things to share! It may help to look for "new" friends to add to yr Friends List (i.e. other dog lovers, etc.). I know when my audience changed that it helped me shift my el jay even more than it was already changing.
i go through periods of compulsively reading my back entries. and sometimes i sit down with someone else's lj and read her back entries like a novel. i read almost all of rag_and_bone. i love and value lj so much and i hate not writing in it; i like my current post a day project.
My pal C. does that: reads other folks' el jays, sometimes all the way through from beginning to present! I'd like to try that, especially for prolific posters. I'm guessing you could learn quite a bit about a person.
Oh, I love that you're posting more. Your voice is necessary. Why did you lapse for a time?
