Hey friends! Hey! Do you know any undergraduates who write poetry and/or fiction? Yeah? You do? Then you should tell them to submit to the following contest. $10 for one piece of fiction or 3 poems. You can submit to both contests, but you'd have to send them in separate and pay the entry fee twice.

Will you submit? I hope so. You're writing is so lovely.

I've never submitted to anything before.
I feel strange giving them money... is that a normal thing to do?

Yup! Most literary contests - I'd say about 80% if not more - ask for a submission fee. It helps to pay judges, pay for printing costs, etc. I know that in terms of this contest it helps them to print the final publication (i.e. pays for the pages it takes to print the winners).

I think submitting things is a good way to engage with the literary community, but I know how difficult it can be to start that process. Let me know if you have any other questions.
