Nominations for the 60th Primetime Emmys are out (full list here). No surprise, the usual suspects dominate the list for acting, directing, writing and overall production while the handful of scifi/fantasy nods inevitably go to visual effects, editing, cinematography and stunts ( Read more... )

While BSG's overall cast is strong (and credit definitely goes to the writing as well), I'm glad TPTB saw Aaron's potential, hence, his increased screen time since S2. His multi-dimensional acting makes each new "role" believable: Chief, Sharon's lover, Cally's husband (and Nic's dad), Union president, resistance leader, and of course, one of the Final 5!

Apparently Mary McDonnell was on the short list (top 10) for an emmy nomination in acting. Didn't pan out though. Bummer.

I know. Again! I'm really enjoying BSG's final season BTW - everything's coming together, and the show is *moving forward,* which felt lacking at times in S3. The Emmys have one last chance to get it right next year....
