Random musings on Godsend

Heroes is back in all its twist-and-turn glory! While a few scenes could be tighter (read Greg Beeman's blog on this ep's production challenges), there was so much packed in overall that I desperately want to watch it again. And again. Sadly, real life beckons as we kick off our semi-annual sharing and strategic planning today. However, our weekly ( Read more... )

The symbol->kanji thing had my husband toying with characters all night. He commented in my last Heroes entry with a link to his interpretation :)

Thanks for all your great linkage, as usual! :D

Oooh! I'll be sure to check out your post and what he's got to say. Was it about the Asian characters or the genetic r/ships?

It was about the Asian characters; he saw an interpretation that it had to do with the characters for "tian cai" instead of what you read, so we're all a little curious :)

Interesting... I froze the screen when Ando points to the sword and the calligraphy, and am fairly certain there's a shot of "与" (yu) though I'm less sure about the other character. Still, my Chinese isn't all that great either!

It's great to see Milo's "real" self, isn't it? I love those goofy moments b/c it's so unlike our angsty, emo!Peter. On the flip side, all the Peter/Nathan awesomeness on-screen reflects how close Milo and Adrian are in real life....

No kidding! That Petrelli fest (or is it Petrelli-cest?) hospital scene is the stuff of fanfic. BTW, since you're in the US, check out the ep's cast commentaries (a new feature) available at NBC's Heroes site - http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/video/commentary.shtml

Heroes was pretty good last night. :) I had just watched the disappointing bsg, so that really brought it home how much I love that show.

Haven't had a chance to see Rapture yet but am bummed that it was disappointing. BSG S3 has been rather hit-and-miss thus far. Am settling down to watch SGA's Submersion right now. I wonder how they'll deal with the consequences of Sunday? Work be damned! I need a break, and it's 10PM already.

Thank you so much for this post. :)

It both cheered me up and was really interesting. I love Beeman's blog, but I always forget to read it. lol

And I know absolutely nothing about eiter Japanese or Chinese. Chemistry I know, but Asian languages...not so much. I bet my brother is really psyched over it though. I'll have to ask him. ;)

Beeman shares lots of great stuff, doesn't he? He's also been delinquent (or rather, too busy) to update though I appreciate that he makes an extra effort for the "big eps."

Does your bro know East Asian studies/languages? Hope you and the weather are ok over there.

Yeah, he does. And I fogive him for not writing more often. They seem to be having a lot to doo, and I prefer having a good show above readong a lot about a bad one. ;)

Well, my brother actually studies computer science, but he's teaching himself Japanese on his spare time. And he's gonna take a class on Japanese culture and sociology or something like that this year. My dad is certain he'll end up over there some day. ;)

And the weather is wonderful right now. The ground is white and it's -4 C. Beautiful. And finally the wind stopped too. :D

Oooh, thanks to you and polyhedron for sharing the commentary! Haven't heard it so will add it to my ever-growing list of fun things to do. Counting on you two to recap them for future eps too ;)
