If this was fiction no one would believe it! A drug ring in Queens copied "The Wire".

Call it a case of crime imitating art imitating crime.

I know! I also love how they could listen on the wire to discussions on "The Wire". It's like meta - on a hold new level. Hee.

Someone should make a TV show about this, just to make things even more awesome weird. A show about smart criminals who watch criminal shows and learn from them - how cool would that be?

(Like those Shakespeare plays where it's a boy playing a girl playing a boy...)

Words cannot express how much I would love a show like that. But then again I get giddy with joy at all things meta. Hee.

Btw - have you seen "The Wire"? It is excellent and so much more than a cop-show. (In fact the cop and crime angle I would argue is just a cover for a show that deals with a city and its cultures)

Alas, no. But it's on my very long list :D

Unfortunately, I'll be having a lot less time to catch up on fun things soon. On the other hand, I'll have money, so it's not a total loss.
