These paintings are amazing, thank you so much!!! He painted the buildings like they are alive, and they do look alive on his paintings. A little spooky feeling, actually.

They are a little spooky aren't they? But I love the atmosphere he creates in his pictures, and the feeling that I'm viewing an actual scene - through a crack in a door or something.

Thank you, such kind words! :) I love Saenredam - and the way his paintings feel like a world of their own. He is in a way so different to many of his contemporaries, which I must admit I find fascinating.
