When you say starch for the Cheeky Boys do you mean cornstarch?

I usually use potato starch but cornstarch works, too.

The dough just needs the finer texture than flour would provide.

However when you say baking oil..you mean the almond oil yes?

Oh dear. I thought I edited all of that out...

Yes, it's the bitter almond oil (smells like marzipan). In Germany we get these little flasks filled with baking oils in different flavours - bitter almond, rum, butter-vanilla, lemon, orange... One flask is just enough for 500 g flour or half a litre of liquid.

I only once found good packaged cinnamon stars - they are usually way too dry. The homemade once are nice and moist :)
