How can something so amazing looking/sounding have such a simple recipe?! I always imagine these things to be waaay more complicated than apparently they are! I'm excited to try this one out. :)

LOL, I know what you mean. I always thought cheesecake was some fancy, mystical thing that only the best could make... Then I made my first one and realized the hardest part is owning a springform pan. (But then I stole one of my mother's and it was all good.)

Okay, except that I used 2 eggs instead of 4, that's the recipe I made last week. I let the bread and glop coagulate overnight in the fridge (as recommended by a food historian of my acquaintance). It still turned out gooshy after 35 min in the oven. Maybe I need to use 4 eggs instead of 2.
Damn, that looks good.

Ew, gooshy is never good! I guess the eggs kind of bind it together. My only beef is that when it cools, sometimes it can smell like eggs, which I hate.

NOM NOM I LOVE BREAD PUDDING!

I especially love that you made it without raisins. Those always just get in the way.

It was just a loaf of french bread someone gave to my dad, and the expiration date was like March 3rd.
