I thought it was terrible. :(

Well, sort of. I thought most of it was great. The last 20-30 minutes or so left a horrible taste in my mouth, on par with "mitichlorians" in Phantom Menace. Thank you George Lucas for coming up with something hokey and stupid that lessens the quality of all the other movies in the series just by existing.

The way I look at it is as such: Most of that movie was great. Classic Indy, entertaining new characters, Marianne/Mary-Anne/whatever looked like she was having a whale of a time. The silly alien stuff? Well, Indy has always been full of sillyness, and hey, it's Lucas. I went in with low expectations, and came out with a big grin on my face and the ability to ignore the chaff. Thumbs up for me!

I kept thinking "OMG, this is so silly, and yet previously, melty Nazis, still beating hearts out of chests, immortal knights and a box that can put it's own lid back on nice and tidy, oh well. It's Indy"

And also "OMG, this is the silliest sword fight ever, and yet... OMG that was a definate bad-arse move by our Shia. Ace! He's hardcore!"

Only thing I can't justify is bloody Ray Winstone. What the hell was all that supposed to be about? Good, bad, indifferent, ridiculous plot device, wha?

I'd have been happier if Ray hadn't been the traitor second time around. I was hoping it was the woman, to throw us off a bit. I was totally expecting the betrayal first time, but second time it was a bit lame. As for the crazy alien stuffs, well, it's Indy. It's also Lucas. I can live with it :)
