I made it back safe and sound! Two things, though:

1) FF12 is fun!
2) Customs opened up my PC, screwed around with it, and didn't put it back together properly. As a result, the storage drive wasn't screwed in at all, and bounced around inside the case fucking up other components. My PC is dead, thus making my copies of TBC and NWN2 worthless.

I'm of the same mind that I'd probably seek compensation. It might be pointless going up against Customs (two entities againsts whom you will almost never win are the taxman and customs - don't know if it's the same over there), but there's no harm in trying.

The problem is that there was no damage to the box. Shipping insurance would probably cover at least part of the damages if there were.

I also have no way to prove that they did anything. It would be my word against theirs. Effectively, I would have to prove that I didn't unscrew the hard drive myself.

I'm still not 100% sure how serious the damages are. The primary hard drive had suffered some damage, but it was reparable and now seems to be working fine. The storage drive that was bouncing around is fine. I think the video card is messed up, because when I turn the PC on, everything is a nice monochromatic blue-ish color. There also seems to be a problem in that it doesn't recognize the a hard drive that seems to work in another computer. I'm gradually becoming worried that the motherboard is the problem, but I can't be sure yet.
