But, seriously, during that ending scene, I couldn't help but sigh at Dean begging for help from a far off, unimaginable source, instead of turning to the very real, very there support that Cas was trying to offer him. It's like he can only ask for stuff he knows he won't get, silly boy.

I loved how you had Cas popping up, though, all stoic and awkward. It was perfectly vague about whether or not he heard Dean's prayers, whether or not -someone- heard Dean's prayers. And, your Cas was so dead-on! I could have seen this as a totally natural progression from here the show left off. In fact I'm pretty sure this is my new canon. Just saying.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was mostly flailing at the tv, being like, "BUT DEAN, YOU AREN'T DEAD INSIDE IF YOU'RE IN PAIN. It shows you you're alive, sillyhead!" So in my brain, Cas had to deliver the message. :D

And that's very true about Dean- that he can only ask for stuff that he knows he won't get. What a strange kid. :-/

PERFECT!!! I was at the end of the episode, just waiting for Cas to come out and then it faded to black and I felt so disappointed. Thank you for this tag, it was just what I needed :P
