I've just learned that one of the inspirations for my becoming an artist has passed. Frank Frazetta, the artist for Tarzan and Conan, also helped to define the modern action look of comic book heroes building on Howard Pyle. His unofficial art site is http://frankfrazetta.org.

He was also involved in Fire and Ice and did a really iconic poster for it. Didn't he also do some Gor cover art?

He was a pillar for that generation of fantasy artwork. This really is the passing of an era in popular art.
