I think it’s natural that we tend to look back one decade and listen to that era’s music.
I remember back in the 80's I was a big fan of the 1960’s music for a time. I was a child of the 70’s, teenager of the 80’s and adult of the 90’s. I really didn’t care much for the 70’s music until recently. I’ve actually become quite fond of it particular the “softer” stuff. 1970’s had such a diverse range of genres - punk, singer songwriters, new wave, reggae, pop, rock, & disco. I do like the 80’s music but it’s become so overplayed now I really don’t enjoy it like I use to. When I think of 80’s music I think of MTV/videos and college rock (now called alternative music/Depeche Mode, R.E.M. the Smiths etc).
