Yeah it's the whole game thing that's stumping me. The the Losties don't want to play, then what? I mean the flashside ways has them living their lives out (some for better and others for worse) anyway. The island doesn't exist anymore, life goes on just fine.
And if no one replaces Jacob than MIB wins.
Maybe he's suppose to win. Because maybe the message is no matter what evil will always be there to corrupt us. But it's our innate goodness that keep the battle evenly matched. Of course if I keep thinking this way, I'm lead to believe EVERYONE will die so that the flash-sideways reality can continue on unaffected.
A truly funny moment was when everyone turned to Richard for the answer on what to do next and he just laughed. That cracked me up.
With regard to the flash sideways, Darlton have said it is important and they have hinted that we will see the connection soon and it's not just a totally seperate thing to what is going on at the island.
