I've had Esther's head painted for about week now, but haven't had much time to work on the rest. I didn't have a color scheme in mind for the background but I liked the soft desaturated purples and pinks in her face so I made a big batch of different shades of purples for the foggy sky. I don't think I posted this here yet. This is my painting for Baby Tattooville's 10-in-1 print. All 10 artists are doing an almost square painting on the theme of 'youth is wasted on the young' and it will be made into a print that will be given out to the attendees that weekend. I wanted to paint bigger heads without committing to a whole background (just in case I couldn't make it work.) While the flat angle of the top head made me frustrated, it was actually easier than paintings smaller heads. Each head is about 5.5" which is large compared to my regular 2" heads.
